Hardwood
There are many different types of hardwood. 1st in Flooring offers hardwood in various widths starting from your standard 2 ¼” and 3 ¼” up to 6” (larger sizes are special order). Below are the different types of wood products that we offer and a brief description of each.
Unfinished – Unfinished hardwood is exactly what it sounds like. This wood comes in a variety of different woods such as red oak, white oak, maple, cherry, etc. After the unfinished is installed it is then sanded, stained (your choice of over 30 stock Minwax Brand colors) and then clear coated. This clear finish also comes in satin, semi gloss and high gloss.
Prefinished – Prefinished hardwood comes from the manufacturer already completed all that is necessary is installation. This type of wood also come in a variety of wood types, colors and finishes specific to each manufacturer.
Laminate/Floating
Laminate – Laminate wood flooring is an engineered product, meaning the base of this type of product is glued together from various. The manufacturer then glues a finished this piece of wood to the top. These types of wood are usually only 5/16th of an inch thick and are installed using glue instead of nails.
Floating Floors – These types of floors are produced numerous ways. They all however are made to lock together requiring no nails or glue and are installed on top of a specific padding.
